My client is a designer, developer, and manufacturer of products used to manage and improve the lives of folks with certain chronic health conditions. The products are hand-held and mechanical. The most common material in these products is plastic.
They are beginning to search for several Development engineers with advanced degrees to begin working on several new and developing product lines. Some of your work will, indeed, be blue sky research, but most of it will be applied research on products in the development stream.
Your design work will be focused on product improvement with a strong eye on quality improvement, cost analysis, and cost reduction. You will use Six Sigma tools (DFSS), DOE, and statistical programs (Minitab). This is clearly a design and development engineering position, and, while you will not be chained to a CAD station all day, you will be expected to do some direct design work using a solid modeling package. (They use SolidWorks but any modern package will do). The products in this case are related to infusion sets, so any infusion set, or auto transfusion devices in your background would be great.

Our highly skilled home care professionals provide a variety of medical services designed to help people return to good health and independence.
Join our Weekend Team as a Top Shelf RN providing skilled nursing care for a diverse population in the community. Openings are currently available out of our Lawrence office. These are part-time (non-benefitted) positions (up to 22 hours per week) that are very flexible and pay premium wages ($45-60/hr).
We also have a baylor RN position, 18/24 or 24/32 (with benefits). Prior home care experience is strongly preferred.
