Job Summary
We're looking for an experienced Principal Quality Assurance Engineer to join a high-powered automation team tasked with building a ground-breaking testing foundation for multiple critical products here at Iron Mountain. This position requires expertise in evaluating a highly available, high performing and scalable distributed system that runs primarily on a Linux platform. This position also includes a technical lead element which requires time management skills for your own work as well as the work of others.
The technical challenges this team faces are significant and therefore qualified applicants will have at least 10 years of demonstrable technical skills in software engineering, quality test planning, test execution and reporting. Additionally they will be those rare individuals who can grasp even the toughest issues quickly and come up with solid, quality solutions at a remarkable pace. Just as important as technical abilities are your skills at working with a team. The successful candidate will have knowledge of highly available, distributed grid computing systems and their underlying databases; understand the production operating environment, and the ability to understand how these factors contribute to product quality. The candidate must be able to use this knowledge to construct highly concentrated scenarios and be able to target certain application areas for more intensive testing.

Provide Test and Evaluation (T&E) planning and execution capability to the Electronic Systems Center at Hanscom AFB, MA. Analyze/assess systems and applications quality assurance/testing to verify that those requirements are properly addressed in the T&E plans and procedures. Directly support government efforts to ensure the developed application is free from errors and bugs; is functioning well according to requirements.

Assist in the requirements verification for government review; develop test scenarios; review development contractor testing documentation; and independently analyze system and subsystem-level test results, analysis of data gathered from site visits for the purpose of signal characterization and interface definition, as well as evaluation of trending data gathered from the developer's Technical Performance Measurement process.

Assist in the design of prototype systems to improve their testability and instrumentation. Work with the system designers to ensure that the design can be adequately tested, and that the test community can continue with the test procedures developed during prototyping in Development and Operational Test.

The successful candidate will perform tasks as follows:
Obtain requirements, functional design, and internal design specifications, user input, and other available/necessary information
Determine project-related personnel and their responsibilities, reporting requirements, required standards and processes (such as release processes, change processes, etc.)
Determine project context, relative to the existing quality culture of the product/organization/business, and how it might impact testing scope, approaches, and methods.
Identify application's higher-risk and more important aspects, set priorities, and determine scope and limitations of tests.
Determine test approaches and methods - unit, integration, functional, system, security, load, usability tests, etc.
Determine test environment requirements (hardware, software, configuration, versions, communications, etc.)
Determine test ware requirements (automation tools, coverage analyzers, test tracking, problem/bug tracking, etc.)
Evaluate system prototype design to determine testability, and to make recommendations on improving the design to support test requirements
Determine test input data requirements
Identify tasks, those responsible for tasks, and labor requirements
Set schedule estimates, timelines, milestones
Determine, where appropriate, input equivalence classes, boundary value analyses, error classes
Prepare test plan document(s) and have needed reviews/approvals
Write test cases; have needed reviews/inspections/approvals of test cases
Prepare test environment and test ware, obtain needed user manuals/reference documents/configuration guides/installation guides, set up test tracking processes, set up logging and archiving processes, set up or obtain test input data
Obtain and install software releases
Perform tests; evaluate and report results
Track problems/bugs and fixes

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

This position may be assigned to a Jacobs teammate company (P3I or Oberon).

Travel of up to 1 week a month may be required.

Using AJAX, the client called the .NET WCF web service which used LINQ to query a SQL Server database. Meet weekly with upper management (Directors, VPs, and Owners) to review project goals and milestones. Meet with client regularly to review user requirements and expectations. Set up a Windows 2003 Server, created web site in IIS 6.0, created SQL Server 2008 database including several stored procedures to export data as JSON, and created a Subversion repository for code and assets which was managed by VisualSVN.
