General Purpose:

Prepare annual Retention Plan and maintain retention at or below budgeted level
Identify and contact students who are at risk and ensure that appropriate action is taken to address issues and concerns
Establish community resources for faculty and students
Facilitate the academic advising program
Coordinate student groups
Maintain contact with faculty members regarding at risk students
Maintain confidentiality regarding student affairs and administrative responsibilities as appropriate
Promote student support services throughout the school
Facilitate networking, communication and leadership among academic and academic support personnel throughout the school
Actively engage in retention activities including documented communication with both students and administration regarding attendance and progress.
Provide assistance for the planning, development and maintenance of program curriculum.
Work with the Program Director/Director of student concerns.

Manage special projects as formally assigned by the Program Director (including but not limited to, the organization and posting of student work for display; assistance with orientation programs, graduations, and open houses; assistance with accreditation preparation).
Adhere to and publicly support academic policies and procedures, included but not limited to the faculty handbook and catalog.
Attend graduation ceremonies.

The MATCH Corps program began in 2004 and is the first of its kind in the nation. The Corps is a group of 70 elite recent college graduates who work one-on-one with five MATCH High School or Middle School students each day for an entire academic year. Corps members live together in apartments nearby the Middle School and in a dorm on the top floor of the High School. Both schools are award-winning open-admission Charter Public High Schools in Boston, MA. This full-time service year program is designed to fully close the academic Achievement Gap between minority students and their non-minority peers, one student at a time. Each Corps member works to guarantee the academic success of MATCH students while building personal relationships. Corps members also have secondary projects such as teaching assistants, and may also coach teams and power extracurricular programs.

Major Duties: Extract implicit and novel information from complex and large databases to characterize genes involved in the physiological and/or pathological state following drug therapy. This is done by integrating and synthesizing the information from databases with bioinformatics tools as well as with statistical, partitioning and visualization techniques. The goal is to find a profile or signature for a treatment or for a side effect, to provide hypotheses for mechanistic pathways, to propose potential biomarkers linked to mechanisms, or to predict potential new therapeutic indications. Exploit to their best the interactions between gene expression analysis – localization/LCM techniques and histopathology to support the concept of integrated molecular pathology Possibly supports exploratory studies by histopathology assessment. Interact with NIBR colleagues (TS and beyond) e.g., project team representatives, study directors, pathologists… Prepare reports and contributions to phase-transition and registration documents. Present results to project team and management. Guide efforts to integrate information from multiple functions (Pathology, PK/PD, modeling, functional validation, and bioassay development). Mentor and train new hires. Maintain a strong awareness of current methodologies through participation at scientific meetings and reviewing current literature in discipline and related areas. Continue scientific career development as demonstrated by internal and external lecture presentations and publication in reference journals. Maintain working knowledge of relevant Novartis policies and procedures.Support NIBR and line function goals and objectives.
